Stevenson Women's Hockey Gets their First Win in Program History!

Stevenson University kicked off the season with two games versus Buffalo State. With a 6-2 loss on Friday afternoon, the Mustangs came back with a punch on Saturday with a 4-1 win. Despite being in penalty trouble, the Mustangs killed 9 of 10 penalties and received goals from Karly Vis, Megan Alexander, Brooke Webber, and Sydney Sakwa to ensure the win. Freshman goalie, Sarah Modzelewski stopped 28 of 29 shots that she faced.

Stevenson University Women's Hockey next match up is a home exhibition against Liberty University on November 3rd at 5:15 p.m. Check the website, www.gomustangsports.com, to follow along live!

Stevenson University Women's Hockey Inaugural Team Jerseys!

After a lot of thought and input from the Stevenson University community, we have completed our new jersey design for our inaugural Women's Hockey team. We are excited to see the girls take the ice next season in these jerseys!

Stevenson University Women's Volleyball Makes Their First Ever NCAA Tournament Appearance!

The Stevenson University Women's Hockey program would like to congratulate the Women's Volleyball team for making their first NCAA Tournament! In the first round, the Mustangs will take their 31-3 record to Neumann University and take on Hiram (26-8) on Friday, November 11 at 5:30pm. Coach Lye Returns From Mexico With the Silver Medal

After being off-campus for 12 days, Coach Lye returned to Stevenson with some extra luggage... a silver medal! With the round robin completed, Team Canada entered the playoffs with a renewed energy and were ready to face Cuba in the semi-final game. After battling hard for a 4-0 win, they headed to the gold medal game where they were given an opportunity to have a rematch versus U.S.A who beat them earlier in the tournament. Team U.S.A., however, proved to be too much for Team Canada so Coach Lye and her teammates settled for a silver medal.

Coach Lye is bringing her softball skills and talents to the field.... in Guadalajara, Mexico! As a member of Team Canada softball, Coach Lye has helped her team to a 4-1 start with wins coming against Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Argentina, and Mexico. Meet Our New Assistant Coach!

        Stevenson University is excited to annouce the hiring of Joey Lye as the new assistant coach for the Women's Hockey program! A native of Toronto, Ontario, Coach Lye comes to us from Williams College where she served as the Interim Head Coach during the 2010-2011 season. In addition to being actively involved with the Women's Hockey program at Williams College, Coach Lye also served as the Assistant Softball Coach for the Ephs.

         Joey is a four-year letter winner in both softball and hockey at Williams College and garnered all kinds of awards during her time on the ice and in the field – including the 2009 NESCAC Player of the Year in softball and a spot on the conference’s All-Sportsmanship team in both sports. After graduating from Williams is 2009 with a bachelor's degree in psychology, Coach Lye was named to the Canadian National Softball Team and is still involved with the national program as a utility player.
        As a duel-sport athlete at a small Division III college, Coach Lye is bringing her amazing experiences to the Women's Hockey team at Stevenson University and will be a great asset to our program moving forward!

Stevenson Women's Ice Hockey Announced at Pre-Season Washington Capitals game!!

When announcing to the Baltimore community that Stevenson University is starting Women's Hockey during the 2012-2013 season, Stevenson University wanted to make sure that we did it with style! So what better way than to have the announcement during one of the intermissions of the Washington Capitals pre-season game against the Nashville Predators. The crowd of thousands at First Mariner Arena in downtown Baltimore were on their feet applauding and cheering at the news that Women's Hockey was coming to the area. The excitement is definitely building for the historic team to arrive on campus and start playing during 2012-2013 season!
